Alana was born and raised in Warkworth before moving to Auckland to study at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic, and the University of Auckland where she gained a Bachelor of Chiropractic and a bachelor of Science.

After Graduation in 2003 she worked in Auckland for a year before the opportunity to come home arose in 2004. She has been looking after local health ever since.
